WOW i cannot believe this is only my second full week here. It feels like I have been here for such a long time hah but its good! Its been a little hard adjusting to the schedule and the demands of a missionary but I am learning! This week I have really learned to rely on my Savior and trust in Him because I know that this is something I cant do without Him. On Sunday night (we call it movie night because all the missionaries meet in the auditorium and watch a church movie) we watched a movie about the Restoration. Idk what it was about the movie, but Im telling you right now i honestly have a stronger testimony of Joseph Smith and the restoration of the gospel just from watching that movie. It was so amazing to watch how much those people sacrificed to hasten the work. It made me realize how blessed I am and how little I have to sacrifice. It was really humbling. One quote from the movie that stuck out to me was one that Jospeh Smith said: "God calls people in their weakness, and then He qualifies them" Sometimes being here I feel so inadequate to be a representative of our Savior but hearing this quote just reminds me that God called me as a missionary, therefore He will give me the strength to do this. My Spanish is pretty good, my comp and I have really been doing well teaching our investigators. Its really cool to be able to feel the Spirit when someone is talking to you in another language and you have no idea half of what theyre saying but you can still feel their love for the gospel and their testimony. But I have been trying to get lost in the work and apply myself as much as I can to working hard! The other day we had a devotional and the guy that taught us was Mexican and had an accent when he spoke English so he sounded like Gru from Despicable Me. So, naturally I walked around the rest of the day talking like Gru haha
Sooo since my companion is an opera singer we decided to join the Missionary Choir here hahaha its actually been super fun! We sing at the devotionals every Tuesday night and have practices a lot. Its weird singing songs that I know in Spanish cuz i cant understand anything Im singing but it sounds pretty!
This morning we went to downtown Mexico City (which we found out was a part of our mission) and we got our visas! It was really nice being out of the CCM and seeing other people besides just missionaries! Mexico City is huge and there are so many people here its crazy! honestly it reminded me a little bit of New York City haha hopefully youll be able to see the pictures!
My district rocks and we´re like a little family haha we play volleyball all the time together so its so fun! I miss you all so much and love you all! thanks so much for the prayers i really feel your love all the way here in Mexico! xoxox hermana erickson

The scripture is 2 Nephi 22:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.
