Hey!!!
Wow so many cool miracles have been happening here in Brownsville!
The 3 of us have had to face some challenges and bike more than ever before but it's been 110% worth it to see all these amazing people changing their lives. God is good and loves us so much!
Rosemary is a great example to us of faith. She turned down a dream job because it required her to work on Sundays. She didn't feel ready for her baptism on Saturday, so told us to postpone it. Then she messaged us Sunday morning and said that she had a bad day and had prayed to God to know what to do, then knew that she needed to trust God's plan and messaged us Sunday morning to tell us she feels ready! She got baptized that afternoon with Ramon. I wish I could describe how many challenges she faced before baptism, but it's good enough to say that she was strong enough to overcome them all and follow the commandments and be baptized.
Ramon's baptism was also a little bit of a fiasco haha, and almost didn't happen. Saturday night he was in the hospital. We called him Sunday morning to see how he was feeling, and he told us that he was home, wanted to be baptized, but left his wheelchair in dialysis so had no way to be transported. We immediately started calling members in the ward to see if anyone had an extra wheelchair, and luckily Brother Vargas saved the day! Ramon made it to church in the borrowed wheelchair. Two people had to support Ramon in the water. When they raised him up, he said, "Wow, that was a good one!" And everyone laughed.
After Ramon and Rosemary changed into dry clothes, the bishop was welcoming them into the ward and Ramon said, "I didn't like being baptized, I loved it!!!" He's a good addition to the ward :)
Rosemary said she feels so clean. She's lived a hard life, but is so sensitive to the spirit. She'll do amazing things.
Also! Angel came to church and loved it. He also stayed for the baptism. He's been hanging out with all the missionaries today playing basketball and soccer!
The Menchaca's also came. We're going to have dinner with them tonight and help her with some yard work.
Carl walked to church again. He said he likes our visits and told us to please not give up on him and Chelsea- of course not! We love them.
The Book of Mormon is true, Jesus Christ is our Savior, and serving with Sister Jenks and Sister Lewis is way too much fun :)
