It was a really rainy week here in Brownsville. We were out walking around knocking doors absolutely soaked and everyone thought we were crazy, but we do this work rain or shine:) it was fun for us!
This week Sister Jenks got sick and so did Sister Kelly (the other sister in our apartment), so I went with Sister Darling to work a lot so that our companions could stay home and sleep. We biked a lot and taught some really awesome lessons. The people down here are so amazing. I've been taking vitamin C like crazy because I do not want to get sick!!! They're starting to feel better so hopefully we can get more work done this week.
The Pensado family came to church again and we love teaching them! The ward is very welcoming and they love it.
Sally also came to church. I love this girl, and she brought her roommate also! We weren't able to teach her this past week because she was busy but hopefully we can meet with her this week.
Miracle of the week: Last time I was serving in Brownsville my companion and I met a cool guy named Aubrey at a gas station. He seemed interested, and actually told us he has a friend who is a member of the church and a return missionary. We made an appointment with him, but it fell through, and we tried to reach out to him a few times, but it never worked out and we lost contact with him. This week, Aubrey popped into my mind, and I thought how cool it would be if we were able to find him again now that I am back in Brownsville. I was passing by the same gas station that I previously met him in, and went inside, and I couldn't believe it because he was there! We started talking to him again, and he said we could come teach him. His wife's name is Betty, and they are so awesome! We taught them how to pray, and the spirit was so strong. They invited us back to teach them more. Amazing!!!
One thing that really stuck out to me this week in personal study is the story about Abinadi teaching the wicked King Noah and his priests in the Book of Mormon. Abinadi gave his life to teach what God needed him to- I would say that's pretty courageous!!! We can always be more valiant in our testimonies of the gospel.
Life is good here! We're really busy and having lots of fun!
