Marissa, Leila, and Miya's Baptism :)
Family and friends,
This week was AMAZING! Marissa, Leila, and Miya got baptized this Sunday, and the ward support was amazing!!! 40 ward members came after church. Seeing everyone supporting them and welcoming them into the ward was amazing. Celina gave an awesome talk about baptism for the girls! I remember the first time we met them. Marissa and Miya were outside coloring chalk on the driveway. We sat down by them and started getting to know them. We told them that they're daughters of God, and Marissa told us we could come back the next day. The gospel has brought so much light into their lives. All the slammed doors and mosquito bites are worth it just because of those 3 girls.
We were a little discouraged earlier this week, because of we had to stop teaching a lot of people who weren't progressing, but now we're excited to find people who are more prepared.
The ward members here are amazing. One older sister, Sister Zambrano, has taken Marissa, Leila, and Miya under her wing and does so much for the work to help us and bring people into the fold. We thanked her, and she responded, "I am humble before my God, for I am not worthy of these blessings, but I do try my best." She amazes me. Her humble, quiet, service is so beautiful. I want to be more like her.
Celina is absolutely killing it. We had some family home evenings with her and ward members, and she continues to grow spiritually.
Amber came to church this week which was so good. She has a lot of burdens on her shoulders, but is doing an amazing job of handling them.
Our ward meetings were so good this last Sunday. We kneeled together as a ward council and received inspiration for how to help the people here.
So many good things happened this week. I just need to depend 100% on the Lord, because I know if I do He will take our simple efforts and magnify them. We are going to try and raise the attendance in sacrament meeting through reactivating families and inviting tons of people to church. If it's God's will it will happen!
I love Sister Paskett, I love the ward, and the people in this area. And I love our Heavenly Father! It's amazing to me how much grace and mercy he has for us. I know that if we align our wills with His, miracles will happen.
