Another amazing week down here in South Texas.
Marissa, Leyla, and Mya are doing great :) we also have been teaching their older sister Destinee because she had the week off of work. Destinee is so so so amazing! She headed off to work last night, but we gave her a book of Mormon and some pamphlets to read! Their life hasn't been easy, but the gospel is bringing blessings!
Laisha continues to amaze me because of her faith. She's finished all the lessons, but has to wait 2 more weeks for baptism, so we started doing personal progress with her :) she is a rockstar!
We met a really humble young couple this week named Marcos and Alondrah. Alondrah is 18 and is pregnant with her 3rd kid. They are awesome. Alondrah came to church yesterday with her 2 boys, and we took them to nursery. It was really good for her little boys to be out of the house, and Sister Vasquez and Sister Jess who were in the nursery really welcomed Alondrah and helped her feel comfortable! It was great!
Celina's husband, Noe, came to sacrament meeting yesterday! We're all so happy because we've all been praying for their family. The ward really welcomed him- this ward is amazing. Celina is on fire and got a calling and is getting her patriarchal blessing soon!
This week I learned just how important it is to forgive ourselves! As a missionary sometimes it gets discouraging when we don't have super good contacts or when you don't teach a perfect lesson, but if we are too hard on ourselves we are missing the whole point of the atonement! Christ suffered for us so that we could learn and grow, and I'm so deeply grateful for that. I've also been studying the plan of salvation more in depth and it blows my mind. God is so merciful.
I'm so grateful for the Weslaco 1 ward and all the members do to help the work move forward! I'm also so grateful for sister Paskett. She's a rockstar!
