Me+Christ=JOY!
Family and friends,
What a killer week!!!!!! Missionary life is the best! Amber is getting baptized this Saturday, and she is just so prepared for the gospel. Her mom had to go to the hospital in McAllen, and Amber was with her, but when she found out she needed to go to church to be baptized this Sunday she called some people and found a ride to the McAllen ward. She is so faithful and so brave! We are praying really hard for her mom right now, and Amber is just glowing with the light of Christ! She's actually 18 so Sis. Paskett and I already have plans to live with her while we all go to college! The people we teach really become friends for life. I love them so much.
Celina is on fire! We are finalizing wedding plans and I just love her so much! She's become such an amazing person and is really becoming converted.
We also met this really awesome guy named JD this week. Sister Paskett took a wrong turn, and we decided to get out of the car to hand someone a Jesus card, when JD runs around the corner because he recognized our car saying "sisters! Come teach me!" What?!?! That never happens! People usually want us to go away haha. He's getting baptized in a couple weeks. He loves the gospel and has given up drinking, coffee, and tea. Miracles!
Life is good down in the valley. Sister Paskett helps me stay pumped! The important thing I learned this week is that "the joy we feel has nothing to do with the circumstances of our lives, and everything to do with the focus of our lives." Pres. Nelson. When we focus on Christ, everything is full of joy, even the hard days :)
