Familia y Amigos,
It´s been such an amazing week I don´t even know where to start! The only bad things that happened is our Latino missionaries keep leaving us for the field! ¡Muy triste! And Hna. Otteson and I found a spider in my bed and two in the shower! ¡No me gusta! But we had a lot of laughs as we tried to shake the spider out of my sheets.
We taught a real investigator on Saturday!!! We have TRC every Saturday, and usually members come and we practice teaching lessons. But this time a member brought her boyfriend, who´s not a member of the church. They spoke so fast in Spanish, it was crazy to realize how much slower our teachers speak to us! It was almost like a different language! But Hna. Otteson and I understood for the most part, and the lesson went really well. We asked the Hermana that was a member to share her testimony often throughout the lesson, and that was really great! It´s so amazing to teach with the help of members. He also prayed with us for the first time in his life, and it was such a beautiful prayer! We gave him a pamphlet about the Plan of Salvation to read this week. It was a really cool experience.
One of the highlights of this week is that Elder Renlund came to speak to us! There are only about 300 of us, so he took the time to shake all of our hands. The Spirit was so strong. I had played the hymns for the predevotional and Elder Renlund asked me to keep playing while he shook everyone´s hand. It was really cool to play the piano and watch everyone shake his hand! (I got to shake his hand too).
Elder and Sister Renlund gave us some amazing instructions. One thing Sister Renlund said that I really liked was, ¨show your faith with your feet!" She really stressed the importance of combining our faith with action and working really hard. One of my favorite parts of Elder Renlund´s talk was when he said, "all God expects of us is to do our best and keep getting better. Christ wants to heal and forgive, Lucifer wants to drag us down. If Christ was watching a child walk for the first time and the child fell, He would help the child up, say "good job! try again!¨Satan would do the opposite." It´s so important to not get discouraged! Christ is by our side helping us every day, all we need to do is ask Him for help!
There are so many blessings that God gives us every day! When we make Christ the center of our lives and focus on serving others, we will have true joy! I love the gospel and I love being a missionary!
