Another week by and we are getting through the transfer! Already we have our Zone Conference on Monday. This week we preformed a musical number for our Sunday zoom Devotional. The four Sister Christensens in our mission decided to get together to record a song called Created in His Image. Everyone had a nice laugh with trying to communicate with four people that go by the same name of Sister Christensen.
We have also had more virtual tours this week! It is exciting to see more and more people experiencing Temple Square without needing to visit. Especially with the buildings still closed we can share our love of the history here. We are still hopeful that soon in the future Temple Square will begin to open for the guests who visit here. We do know that they have been putting up the Christmas lights to prepare for this next Christmas season. Let's of sisters are excited to see the lights on temple square, it will be cool to see how they differ from last year.
Sunday night was the Spanish meeting for all spanish speaking sisters and their companions. We walked to square around 8 to attend the meeting and found one of my previous companions, Sister Marotz! It was so good to see her and catch up for the few moments we had. We were companions when the COVID started hitting missions harder in March. I am glad to see her happy and well!
On Monday we were scheduled to once again have Dairy, but another set of sisters asked if they could take it for their exchange. We were happy to help out as our own schedule was really packed full. We had weekly Planning and a few lessons to get in with the people we are teaching. On Monday we were also able to complete all of the files for correctional services. It only took 4 months, but we digitized all of the files they needed. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to work and learn from that project. It shows how willing God is to help all his children to succeed and find happiness in life.
Later this week I made some biscuits and gravy. Sister Hueyopan and one of our zone leaders had never tried it. I think it was a hit with them and it was fun to experiment with meals I don't normally eat. We also got ingredients to make street tacos a little later. The online queue has begun to pick up again with new Facebook chats. People interested can message Come unto Christ on Facebook and can talk to missionaries in the visitor centers. Just another way we find people who are ready to learn more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Finally we also had our transferly interviews. They were during the same day as our district council so that was pushed back to 6 pm instead of the normal 10 am. We were still able to feel the spirit as a district and talk about the ways we can seek daily repentance and a daily change of heart toward our Savior. Our district is amazing and they all share such good advice about how to better follow the savior everyday. As they say, you can't teach what you don't know. We are constantly striving to increase our personal relationships with Jesus Christ. I hope all of you are striving to do the same and become the best people you can be. I'm excited to tell more experiences next week!
Write again later,
Sister Christensen
