Fun week with the Zone
It's been a long, but short week. It has gone by quick, but it always seems like a lot has happened. On Friday last week I hit my official year mark. We put together a little part to celebrate the occasion with some food and ice cream. Before that though we went to Welfare Square to slice up some bread. Later I was also able to wish my dad a happy birthday.
Over the weekend we prepared for MLC on Monday. We had a few talks to read and study. They all focused on the atonement of Jesus Christ. Each talk explained a different aspect of the importance of the atonement. They explained how the atonement is meant to strengthen, redeem, and heal us. On Sunday we also had the announcement that our mission was approved to do the sacrement twice a month. We will start this next week on Sunday. Still not the same as before, but being able to take it more then once a month is a great blessing. We also had our weekly Come Follow Me with our district on Sunday. I love all the sisters in our district and their insights to what we read. It will be a great to get to know them more over the course of this transfer.
Monday was Mission Leadership Council (MLC). For all zone leaders and district leaders in the mission. For the first time in months it was in person! We met with a few other sisters in the NVC to exchange companions for the meeting. They covered different ways that we can become more consecrated and obedient as well as love the sisters we serve. Our goal as leaders is to love and support our sisters and help them progress closer to Jesus Christ so that those they teach can do the same. Following the meeting they gave us a yummy lunch and we met up with our normal companions.
The next day we had our first district council. It began with a meeting and introduction with the zone. Then we split off into our districts and spent time talking about the redeeming power of Jesus Christ. I know that the Savior can redeem my soul from all sins as I choose to follow him more everyday.
Yesterday we also had our first exchange of the transfer. This time with our Zone Leaders! Sister Leifi and Cherry our the sweetest people and I am excited to learn from them. I went with Sister Cherry for the day, but our day was mostly in the Dairy at Welfare Sqaure. It was still fun and I learned a lot from her sweet spirit and love toward all people around her. We'll see what this next week has in store for us this transfer!
