Zone Conference and Time Flying

Zone Conference has come and gone, my 8th of 12. This was our first Zone Conference with President and Sister Larsen. They gave an amazing lesson about obedience and hard work to find success in the mission. It also applied to life after the mission. We can climb many mountains as long as we prepare beforehand and never do it alone. We can always rely on the ones closest to us to help us through our challenges. Regardless of any circumstance we will always have Jesus Christ pushing us toward the end and taking our burdens to help us achieve amazing things. To close our conference we had a great meal of Dominos pizza to enjoy!

Other projects this week is working on a computer inventory. With so many sisters working online Sister Hueyopan and I try to keep everything in working order. We are working on creating a new system to keep track of what works and what doesn't and make it easier for sisters to report broken tech. It will take a little more time to see how successful we were and to make a few tweaks to our master plan. It takes time, but hopefully the results will be worth it.

We were hoping to take our first virtual tour this week, but sadly they said they would not be able to make the tour. So far we haven't gotten any English or Spanish tours assigned to us, but maybe this next week is our week to shine. Maybe we might even book a tour for ourselves soon.

We were also asked to do our Zone Family Home Evening. Every Sunday night our zone gets together to share spiritual messages and the zone leaders asked us to lead this week about our bodies being temples. We shared a great talk from October 2005 called "The Sanctity of the Body" by Susan W. Tanner. Sister Tanner talked about how our physical bodies were gifts from God to help us become more like our Father in Heaven. Our goal is to respect and appreciate our gift by loving the way we are and taking care of ourselves. We decided to make bookmarks for all the sisters in our district. We put each sister's favorite temple next to a nice photo of them. We passed them out and had the sisters share a loving compliment to the sister whose bookmark she had. Based on their reactions I think it went well. It makes me so happy that the sisters were able to feel the spirit around them and feel better about themselves in the process. Our hope was that each of them and everyone can understand how amazing they are as a child of God.

Our last item of the week was exchanges with our District Leader and her companion. I was able to go with Sister Astle and Sister Kroeger. Sister Astle got here this transfer, reassigned from the Domincan Republic. She has been out for roughly 7 months. She is amazingly sweet and so willing to talk with people and proclaim the gospel. Sister Kroeger my District Leader is from Missiouri and came with me from the MTC. She is one of the hardest working missionaries I know. She wants every person to know they are a child of God. I really learned so much from each of them about loving those around me and having an unwavering desire to share the gospel with the world. It just makes me want to do better everyday.

Speaking of my class. I can't believe I only have 6 months left today! I'm sure my mother has already told lots of people. But I come home in January which is only 6 months away. I have to say, at the beginning of my mission 6 months was a long time. Now 6 months seems so short and not enough time to proclaim the gospel to everyone I meet. I still have time but it seems like everyday time is slipping away. As they say, time flies when you are having fun and serving God everyday.
Love you all and see you again next week!
Sister Christensen
