Mission Facebook Post (Conference Center)
Starting January 1 our sisters will have assignments in the Conference Center which is now the biggest Visitors Center in the Church! It will be open from
9 am to 9 pm. Additional visitors displays and experiences will now be available. Come and visit!
The Conference Center is incredible, filled with statues, pictures, church history, interior views of the waterfall and much more. (Pictures taken in summer)
Visitors to Temple Square now start their visit with a 20 minute introductory film in the small theater.
The Conference Center is so large there are many places for meaningful pictures and statutes, stained glass and floral arrangements. On the way to the rooftop, there are reliefs of plants and flowers
The rooftop views from the Conference Center are magnificent!! The guided tour includes descriptions of the foliage covering the top of the building from the native grasses on the west to the huge trees on the east. Covered skylights shaped like pyramids provide light to the auditorium. The roof also has a back staircase which will be used to help traffic flow as increased amounts of visitors come to visit. The Conference Center Auditorium is the largest of it’s kind in America. It seats over 21,00 people. General Conference is held here twice a year. Visitors will see a 20 minute looped film playing in the auditorium
The Busts of the Presidents of the Church have been relocated. On January 1 the Temple model will be moved to this location which overlooks the Salt Lake Temple. Visitors to the Conference Center will get an excellent view of the progress on the Temple renovation.
