This week was Zone Conference. It was over Zoom which was interesting. It was also shorter then any Zone Conference I have had before. Usually our conference is 6 hours, but this one lasted for only 3. They even gave us our lunches as they normally do. A good sandwich to warm the soul. Sister Perez even gave her departing testimony. We learned a lot about obedience and having the desire to continue to work hard in what we do. It was really good.
With our new goal of working in Correctional Services we know what to do if we get a referral for someone in one of those locations. We were able to give a referral to the senior couples working there and they were so happy to find someone new to help and serve. We also got a referral from them for a family that could use the gospel. Sadly, we have finally been provisioned, but we now have to be approved to use the programs. Hopefully by tomorrow or Thursday we will be able to work there.
Saturday came with a surprise service opportunity. There was a person a few floors down from his that was moving out and some sisters came to ask if we would be willing to help them. We had a little bit of open time, so we decided to see what we could do. It was a member couple that is moving to another part of Utah. We worked on moving their furniture up the elevator to the loading dock where their moving truck was waiting. It was hard work, but we were happy to help.
That was mostly it for this week. We still teach online a lot. We schedule around 15 to 20 lessons each week to help those we are teaching. We try our best to help every person we talk to. President announced that next Sunday (fast sunday) we would get to partake of the sacrament once again. We also will get to watch Tangled this week! More blessings to us. Not many missionaries say that they get to watch Disney movies once a week.
Today we had a pass off tour with our zone leaders. They wanted to give each of us a chance to practice our tour skills for historical temple square. It has been over a transfer since we have given a tour on Temple Square. It was a great time to remember all the facts we have memorized in our time here and feel the spirit through the beautiful history of the square. We also did a hike today as a district activity. It was called the living room hike behind the University of Utah. It was harder then our last hike l, but still fun. At the top there was a bunch of rocks set up to look like a living room. We had a great time getting out into the fresh air.
Crazy enough I only have 2 weeks left of this my 6th transfer out of twelve. As of this coming Wednesday I hit my halfway point of my mission. It has been an exciting 9 months and I am so excited for a great 9 more. It has had it's up and downs, but the experiences have taught me so much about how I can better follow my Savior everyday. Keep going strong. We can all make it to the end!
