Zone conference was this week. We met in the Beehive house again to learn more about being better missionaries. We always do role plays to practice meeting people. President chooses who does all the role plays each transfer. He just says our name right when we need to do it. I was told to be a 17 your old girl. Everyone told me I was a great teenager. Not sure how I feel about that. It's okay, it was still fun to do. I performed a song with a few other sisters and I think it went pretty well.
On Friday we had exchanges. Sister Sims went with our district leader, and I went with her companion Sister Escobar. She just got here this transfer, but we were together in the MTC. She is very sweet and a wonderful missionary. I learned a lot about confidence in our message.
Saturday and Sunday were the special days. Sister Sims family came to the square! We met them around 5 and went on a tour of the square and had dinner with them. They were awesome. Her family is just like mine, if you add 3 sisters to the end of the kids. After dinner we went back to our apartment to meet them tomorrow. They decided to go to church with us on Sunday and Sister Sims and her younger brother sang a song called "Arms of the rescuer." Following sacrement we all went together to watch music and the spoken word. It was the veterans day special and we listened to music celebrating America and our fallen soldiers.
Today we had relief society and outbound calls. The sisters on Temple Square get to serve for 3 months in another mission. Only 7 people were called to leave in 2 weeks, one of which is Sister Sims. She is temporarily reassigned to the South Carolina Columbia Mission! I am so excited for her. She leaves on the 25th of this month. This means I am guaranteed to get new companion. On a sad note, she found out her dog passed away back home. It was expected, but that doesn't make it any better. We look forward to having a better day and preparing her for her new call!
I am excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is an amazing time of the year. Light the World giving machines will be up to allow for donations. This year there will be a machine in Downtown Summerlin later this month. If anyone has time check it out! Remember to be thankful for all the gifts of this life. There are many we forget about and fail to acknowledge. God loves each of us and gives us everything he can.
Talk to all of you again next week for the last pday of my second transfer!
