Nauvoo Bell Tower. Early Members of the Church in England sacrificed to pay for the original bell which was later hung in the Nauvoo Temple. The bell was brought west with the evacuation of the Saints from Nauvoo. In 1942, Relief Society members donated funds to build the bell tower on temple Square in honor of the organization’s Centennial. Today we hear it ring every hour. The Bell Tower is on the West side of Temple Square, just North of the Assembly Hall.
