Nagasaki, Japan

Sister Steed

Hello from Nagasaki! - Week 24

This week we received our transfer calls and I'm going to Okinawa!! For those of you who don't know it's a beautiful island out in the sea. I'm going to the city Futenma! In Futenma there's an American Air Force base and so I get to work with a Japanese ward as well as an English ward!! I'm so so so excited!!! My new companion is Sister Sato and she is Japanese! My first Japanese companion!! I knew her in the MTC and she is the sweetest and I can't wait to work with her. Tomorrow I'm taking a plane down to the islands! I'm really sad to leave Nagasaki but I'm pumped to take on this new adventure!
Not that much happened this week but it has started to get cooler! It's crazy how fast this summer has gone. We had our last district meeting and we went to Sushiro (a conveyor belt sushi place) and Elder Campos ate 18 plates!! (see attached picture).
This week we finally conquered the last bit of the less-active list here in Nagasaki! I'm proud to say that I have helped a little bit in the Lord's work of finding His lost sheep. We saw so many miracles and had so many crazy adventures while searching out these less-actives here in the crazy mountains of Nagasaki.
On Sunday we had a District conference (kind of like stake conference) and tons of other branches came like Sasebo, Saga, Isahaya, etc. We had so many people and it was a blast. There were so many great talks that all kind of had a theme of being a disciple of Christ and pressing forward with faith. Being a disicple of Christ and enduring to the end is not a part-time job. We have to be all in and always exercising our faith, reading the scriptures, praying daily, going to church (not just going but actively participating) and serving and loving others! Also, a long time investigator and their daughter Totsuzen (randomly) visited and they came and enjoyed a little part of the conference and afterwards the daughter told us that she loved it! Such a miracle! I love doing the Lord's work! I love Nagasaki! I love Japan! I love being a missionary!
