Life is good down here in Naha! I can't believe it's already half-way through June. Wow!
This week was a RAINY week! I thought that by coming down to Okinawa I would have escaped the rainy season of Japan that comes in June but I was so wrong haha! It rained straight every single day and we even had a typhoon!!! It was so unexpected, all of the sudden while proselyting everyone kept telling us that a typhoon was coming the next day and we were thinking "yeah right" but the next day it was so rainy and windy. Not as bad as last year's typhoon but still pretty bad. Luckily, it was pretty short but still ちょっとやばい. We may have been the only crazy people riding bikes during the typhoon and we may have lost my companion's bike basket along the way, Oops.
Because of the rain, a lot of our appointments got cancelled but our investigators are still doing great! We got to teach Mayumi this week and she is doing so well preparing for her baptism. Every commandment we teach her, she already is following and has just so much faith in Christ. We are so blessed to have her. I love teaching the gospel and seeing all of our investigator's growth.
When I went on exchanges here in Naha last year when I was back in my old area, we found a new investigator named Sonomi. We taught her a lesson on the spot and invited her to be baptized and she accepted and it was one of the coolest miracles I've ever seen. Well, after I left Okinawa she got busy and wasn't able to meet with the missionaries for a while. And then one night this week we felt impressed to visit her and she was home! We talked with her and she even remembered who I was and she apparently just got back from a big trip to Kyushu and she's able to meet now! It was such a cool miracle that I get to be back in Naha now and we can teach her! I can just tell that this is the Lord's hand.
Anyways, recently I have been studying a lot about seeking personal revelation in my life and especially President Nelson's talk that he gave last general conference. He talked about how much of a blessing it is to be able as members of the church to receive personal revelation for our own lives. He talked about how we can be like Joseph Smith and seek our own personal sacred grove and ask God for the wisdom that we lack. I have seen in my mission how seeking personal revelation through the Holy Ghost has blessed me and has helped me in every part of the work. I promise all of you that as you seek for that wisdom that you lack and act on those spiritual promptings, God will bless you with the revelation that you need. I have seen it in my life time and time again.
Anyways I love you all! 心から愛しています!
