I am currently writing this email at the temple! I mean, not inside obviously, in the mission office actually. Today we got the chance to come to the Fukuoka temple with our recent convert Tsurusaki! This morning we did baptisms (which was weird because I haven't done them since the beginning of my mission) and after we will do a session. The Fukuoka temple is so beautiful and I'm so grateful for the chance to go to the temple during my mission.
Anyways, this week was sooo busy we literally never had time for language study everyday. That's when you know a missionary is busy, haha. First off, a funny story, while proselyting we went to this certain area and one lady came out (she was the landlord) and she told me that some people called her and complained about us going around and told us if we didn't stop she would call the police. Literally the only time in Japan that I have been threatened. Lol!
This week we visited a less-active who hasn't been to church in a while but she invited us to come over out of the blue. We had a great lesson about God and how He cares for each of us and how He knows each of us. We told her that God is always inviting us to come back Him. It was an awesome, spirit-filled lesson. After, she showed us her instrument called a Shamisen which is like a Japanese banjo. She played some songs and then let us play! It was so so cool sounding but pretty hard to play. I think I need more practice. :)
We also had another lesson with Ichimura and she didn't read the Book of Mormon since last time so we read 3 Nephi 11 with her. The spirit was strong and we talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon and it's purpose. I have recently been focusing on studying the Book of Mormon and especially its purpose. I realized that after the Restoration, the Book of Mormon was given to us to help us clearly understand the doctrine of Christ which is the most important thing. It was given to us so that someday we can return to Heavenly Father's presence. When you think of it in that way, we can ponder about how important the Book of Mormon really is.
Other than that, yesterday we got to do companion exchanges in Maebaru. I was with Sister Yonei and it was a blast! Had some really good lessons and we had fun proselyting together.
Anyways, life is good here in Fukuoka!!!
