Hello from Okinawa! - Week 18

Hello everyone from the island of Okinawa! But not for much longer because this week I'm being transferred up to Chikushino! Chikushino is a town up on the mainland by Fukuoka. My new companion is Sister Cordero from Riverton, UT. She has been out on her mission about 4 months. I'm sad to leave the beautiful island of Okinawa and all the amazing people here and my amazing companion Sister Togerson, but I'm excited to see all the fun that Chikushino brings!
Anyways, this week has been a great week! A great start to the New Year! We've been seeing so many miracles! We got to go to lunch with our mission leader the Uehara family and they had special food that they eat for New Year's. We also got to eat the New Year's meal with a bunch of members and it was so much fun!
On Tuesday this week, I had one of the most spiritual contacts on my mission. While proselyting we were led to knock on this one door. The lady who answered the door said that she had been baptized when she was 8 years old but hasn't been to church since. She continued to bear testimony about how even though she hasn't gone to church she will never forget her baptism. She talked about how when she was a child she was scared of water and she was scared about being baptized but when she came out of the water and she looked around and the people around her looked like angels and she felt that she had been reborn and felt completely clean. She said that through all these years she hasn't forgotten the feeling she felt at her baptism. She also talked about this reoccuring dream that she has every once in a while where she sees a huge white building with tons of light coming out of it and angels start flowing out of the building. And then she says she sees Christ coming out of the building and reaches out to her. I knew that she was talking about the temple. We talked to her about how Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father really know who she is and how they are inviting her back to them. It was such a cool experience and I know that Christ lives and knows who we are and is always wanting us all to return come back to Him.
The Miyagi children are really progressing! We last taught them about the Plan of Salvation and they keep talking about how they really want to have an eternal family. I'm really excited for their baptism in March! It is really awesome to get to see the progression of their faith and how their hearts are changing.
Anyways, I don't have a lot of time because it's transfers but I'm excited for what my new area brings!
