One Year Down!

Fun fact: Sometime this past week, I hit my 1 year mark in Japan!

To be honest, when I first got my call to serve in Kobe (Pronounced at that time `kobee` ://) Japan, I was pretty surprised. I figured i`d be eating sushi every day and that wasn`t an option so the first phrase I memorized and pronounced super wrong was `私は魚にアレルギーだ。‘ (I have a fish allergy) .. haha. I REALLY couldn't choke down sushi. I definitely couldn't pick up sushi with chopsticks. And I was a bittttt hesitant about preaching the gospel in a foreign language.
... and now it has been a year! Chopsticks, sushi (and every other japanese food), japanese are things i'm definitely gonna hang on to for the rest of my life. Those, plus my best friends i`ve gotten to meet here.

Miracles this week:
Monday: Like i mentioned last week, S family called and asked if they could come to the church and get baptized that day. We asked if we could meet them at the church and you know.. talk to them first haha. They agreed and came to the church, and we were able to teach them the restoration and figure out why they want to be baptized! They were reading the restoration pamphlet as a family that morning, and the mom all of the sudden sat up straight and said `we need to go to the church and get baptized! Call the missionaries!` They talked about it as a family and decided that it would be best for them, and that's when they called us. Anyways, they're amazing and are already receiving answers to their prayers.:)

Tuesday: we were biking in freezing rain for a good while, and then the rain stopped and this HUGE rainbow appeared. we were headed in that direction anyways, so we decided `why not follow the rainbow?`. ..We literally found the end of the rainbow, folks. I didn't even know that was possible. It ended up being right in the area of a less active sister, so we visited her and got to talk to her and she opened up a ton. Rainbow dendo \m/

Wednesday: My testimony was strengthened of acting on every worthy thought. We were biking home and we rode by an apartment building with only one door with a light on. It caught my eye, so we went to check it out, and met the coolest fam ever! They have kids that are like the same as my siblings, and they were super friendly. It would've been easy to ignore that small thought and head home, but following and seeing what happens>not following and never knowing

Thursday: We had interviews with Welch Kaicho! Those are always top notch. I always end up learning what I need to learn, and I get to see an example of someone who loves Christ and everyone he meets. Welch Kaicho and Shimai are the best.

Friday: S mom and S daughter came to Bean Shimai`s dance class, as well as a less active, and a member and her grandkid! S daughter has been a ballet dancer from age 3, but had an accident last year and hasn't been able to dance since. However, at the dance class she and Bean Shimai (also a ballerina) were both able to dance without any problems:) S Daughter said that that was a blessing from God! Also, I got to go on an exchange with the lovely Pickrell Shimai, and we had so much fun getting lost bc I can't read maps. We were definitely led to people we needed to meet:) #thanksKamisama

Saturday: Met with S family again, and they all agreed to be baptized on the 14th of february:) Please pray for us to be able to help them be prepared to receive baptism then!

Sunday: S fam came to church, and got to meet new friends.:) This Nishiwaki branch is filled with some of the most kind, loving people I`ve met so far in Japan. I feel like every family would feel at home here, and it`s good to see the Lord bringing so many of his sheep into this fold.

Miracles, right? they happen every day, we just have to look for them.:)

Mosiah 8:18 Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings.

Be a benefit to someone`s life today! I know you`ll be happier, and so will they.:)

I love you all, and am SO thankful for your prayers!

Pics: One of our investigators gave us these magic scarves, it's supa cold
so now this is how we go about our days
