This week and the week before were full of miracles as usual. I LOVE the miracle board challenge. Once again, I highly recommend! This week, I`d like to share a little bit of what I have been learning about the `why` of miracles.
Recently, Hatch Shimai and I have been studying Faith in Jesus Christ. It is the first principle of the gospel, and there`s so much for me to learn! I could probably study faith every day and come to know something new. There`s so many things I have yet to learn, but this week the biggest thing that I`ve come to realize is that faith is quite literally power. We are told that it is the power by which worlds were created. It is the power by which Jesus Christ worked miracles while on the earth, and it is the power by which we see miracles in our own lives.
Okay! So faith is power. What does that mean for us? To me, it means everything. Faith in Jesus Christ = the power to overcome sin, doubt, pain, weaknesses, death, and trials. It`s the power to live in a way that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father one day. It is the power to have hope even in the face of despair. And it is through our faith that such miracles as these are seen not only in our lives, but also in the lives of our beloved friends and family. Who wouldn't want that?
In Mosiah 8, there`s a really neat scripture that supports this principle:
18 Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings.
I`m lucky enough to work with some of the most faithful people ever, and I know that it`s by our incredibly small and simple faith that God works miracles through us. I also know that through simple faith in Jesus Christ, God will provide a way for us to work mighty miracles. These miracles may be just for us, or they may be for the benefit of our fellow beings. Whatever the case may be, `it is by faith that miracles are wrought!
Family and friends, Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He is the Son of God, our perfect example, and our best friend.
I know that miracles are real. They happen every day.
I know that they come in many shapes and sizes, they come on the Lord`s time, and they are manifested in many ways.
I know that whether they be big or small, all miracles come through our faith in Jesus Christ.
I know that if you exercise your faith in Jesus Christ, you will see miracles in your life, and in the lives of those around you!
