On Tuesday, we drove to Ogdensburg for District meeting and we saw Canada. Canada! haha I don't know why but that was so exciting so we took a lot of pictures! It was so weird because Canada was literally across the river from where the church is and where we ate lunch. Now I've seen it... the next step is actually going to Canada. haha!
Then on Thursday we drove down to Carthage to Blitz the Sisters there. For those of you that don't know there is a military base called Fort Drum there. Most of the ward is located on Fort Drum so we got to get a day pass and go on the Military base! It was so cool! Honestly the neighborhoods were kind of creepy. I felt like I was in a horror movie because all the houses look the same. And the grass and trees were all dead and like no one was outside.... Just felt a bit weird I guess. But it was still awesome! Sister Fry and Vandermayden are the Carthage Sisters and it was so much fun to get to know them! I found out Sister Fry played softball which made me just love her even more.
And then as you all know Saturday and Sunday was general conference. I can't even express in words how I feel about this conference. It was amazing. The spirit that could be felt the entire weekend is one I hope I never lose. The talks and message were amazing and uplifting. But by far the best part was the opportunity we had to Sustain President Russel M. Nelson as the Prophet. This is the second time in my life this has happened but the first time I actually remember. As I stood in a humble investigators tiny apartment it was a moment of peace, love, and joy. Its one of those moments people talk about and share in testimony meetings of a time they felt the spirit. A time they knew that this is Gods church. I knew in that moment that this amazing man, President Nelson, is the living prophet today. He has been called of God. He holds all the keys to the priesthood. God communicates directly with him to direct His church here upon the earth today. If you haven't gained a witness of our Prophet I invite you to go find it. Pray to your Father in Heaven who loves you dearly and ask Him for the wisdom you need. This is an exciting time to be a member of the Lords restored church. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a part of His work " to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man". I love this gospel and everything t encompasses. I love my Savior. Jesus is the Christ. His atonement was the most miraculous event to ever happen in the history of the world. How grateful I am for a brother who willingly performed His Atonement so I have the chance to live with my family forever alongside my Father in Heaven.
I love you all! As we leave this conference weekend ponder on what you learned and how you felt. Take President Nelsons challenge and read over everything shared this weekend. Gods answers for you are within those messages shared.
