Over the river and through the woods... to Palmyra we go

Hello!!! So this week was definitely an interesting one.

Today we had the opportunity to go to the Palmyra temple and oh my heavens it was amazing. This temple is super cute and little and just the most adorable temple you will ever see in your life. It could probably fit in the Oquirrh Mountain temple about 5 or 6 times to give ya an idea of how small it really is. After we went to the temple we drove by the sacred grove and Joseph Smiths farm. It was amazing. I couldn't go inside but I look forward to the day I do. For now I just got some pictures. It pretty much looks exactly the same as the rest of New York yet it is so special at the same time! It is crazy how close everything is to me! It has always been so far away and it finally hit me today how I am actually in New York where the restoration of the church happened! How cool is that? Only took me four months to really have it sink in...lol.

So like I was complaining about in my last letter... it is COLD here. Literally below 0 degrees actually. Warning for the nest few months I'll probably mention the weather in some shape or form but seriously this week was cold. In fact, on Thursday night we got a text from our Mission President informing us that when we went in for the night we were not allowed to leave until Sunday morning for church. #Quarantined #YesIJustUsedAHashtag #YourWelcome So we spent Friday and Saturday inside our little apartment studying, eating our Christmas candy, and doing puzzles. To be completely honest I was stoked to get out of that apartment by the end of those 48 hours. Sunday came and I practically ran out the door into the cold air. It actually wasnt that bad. You know you have been living in New York when you think 10 degrees is warm... I dont know why I ever thought Utah was cold. It was nothing compared to this!

Other than those few things not much else happened this week. It was a week full of lessons and running around in the cold. We are struggling to get our investigators to church so we are focusing on that this week. Hopefully next week people will actually come. There is nothing worse then waiting for an investigator to come to church and be waiting in vain. But hey there is always next week right?

Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed there first week of 2018! If ya haven't yet, Make some goals and make a plan! (Its okay if you've been a slacker because I'm in the same boat) The purpose of this life is to be a little bit better then you were yesterday. SO how are you going to make that happen? How are you going to make 2018 a year to remember?

I love you all! With the passing of our dear Prophet Thomas S. Monson I invite you all to study his words. He was a prophet I hope we all always remember. I realized as I was singing "We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet" moments after finding out about his death during district meeting, how blessed we truly are to have a living Prophet. My testimony of Joseph Smith and this restored gospel has been strengthen this week as I have thought about how amazing it is that we have the knowledge of a living prophet to lead and guide us in these days. I look forward to following our future Prophet God has prepared to help us in the future.

Love Sister Keller
