I believe I have officially seen the sun for the last time for the next few months. Everyone here in Ithaca keeps telling me we wont see it for months... I just hope they are wrong! With the cloudy skies came the snow. The day of transfer we got hit with a storm and were driving through it to get to Utica. We made it there and back safety and it was actually a lot of fun! I met my new companion. Her name is Sister Hamblin and she is from Wales Utah. She is probably the most blunt person I have ever met and I love it. We get along really well and I have a feeling these next 12 weeks are gonna be a blast! We are hoping the work will start to pick up in the next few weeks but it is going to be hard because half of Ithaca is leaving for the holidays. Because of Cornell about 2/5 ths of Ithaca heads home for the holidays which means it is going to be a bit bare.
This week was actually really good. We found a man named Andy. We knocked on his door last Sunday and since then have taught him twice. We are going to give him a church tour and hopefully he will come to church this next week!
This week the Elders have a baptism. Her name is Robin and she is the sweetest lady you will ever meet. We got to teach her a little and I am so excited for her! I know she is technically not my investigator but I still count her as one. lol.
Christmas is right around the corner and I hope all of ya are ready for it! If you haven't already, you better go get your mom a present! Haha I hope that this week is full of Joy and laughter, as it should be. Christmas can sometimes be a hard time of year but it is what you make of it. Don't forget to remember the reason for the season. Our Saviors birth is why we celebrate so we would do good to give him a little bit of time this year. I love my Savior so much. I am so grateful to our loving Heavenly Father who "so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son" ( John 3:16 ) How amazing is it that we are so loved that we have a Savior who would come to this earth for us. I look up to my Savior, Redeemer, Friend, Brother. He is the reason why I have any happiness in the first place. I know that He lives. Jesus is the Christ.
Love, Sister Keller
A fun quote from Robert D. Hales " When you cannot do what you have always done, then you only do what matters most."
