Hermana Crismon

"Doubt your doubts before you doubt your companion"

Heey everyone! We are going to get right down to the week in review today.

1. Divisions came to a long awaited end this week. When Hermana Crismon came back we were both thinking, "Wow, it has been such a long time since we last saw each other." In reality it was 5 days but whatever.

2. The day Hermana Crismon got back it was a little crazy and we ended up getting back into our area pretty late. We weren't going to have enough time to go visit anyone but both of us felt like we should go see Adrian. We were only going to be able to be there for about 10 minutes but we made it out there (about a 30 minute walk from our apartment). When we got there we sat down and apologized for not visiting for a while. Adrian looked at us and smiled for a moment without saying anything. After a few moments he looked up and said, "Hermanas, I received my answer. I want to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." Hermana Crismon and I couldn't contain our excitement. He said, "My mom told me I should call and tell you guys but I knew you would come today." That makes a count of about 342,678 times that we have been shown that the Lord's hand is in all things. We are preparing for his baptism the 19th of January so if you could all keep him in your prayers it would be so awesome.

3. This week I was reading in the New Testament in the book of Acts. Chapter 5 had something that I loved.

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye befound even to fight against God.

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 ¶ And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

The apostles were under so much pressure to stop speaking of the truths they had seen, but even those against them knew that if what they did was really of God, they could not be silenced. I too, rejoice that I am counted worthy to suffer shame for his name, as should we all be. I hope that we can follow the example of the 12 apostles and "cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." After all, He is the reason we are here. He is the reason I am all the way out here in Argentina. I love you all and wish you happy holidays. Have a great week!!

Love, Hermana Stirling

p.s. This week's title line is a quote from the one and only Hermana Crismon who I sometimes doubt even though I shouldn't haha
