Hermana Palomino

When you were just a stranger, did you know you had my heart?

Woah what a week people.

1. I have one and only one very important point of interest this week. About 3 months ago, Hermana Palomino were prompted to visit a less active family that lives in our ward. For a few weeks we were unable to visit the family due to sickness and other unexpected problems. Finally we were able to stop by this family's house. I think I might have told a little about this charla in a past email but we talked for about 3 hours. In the beginning the mother told us that she was attending another church and that she was happy. By the end of the charla she was crying and telling us that something was missing. This hermana has 8 children who now all have families of their own. At this point they were all inactive. They told us they want to make some changes in their lives. That was all that we needed to hear. We started meeting with her oldest daughter (Hermana Natalia) at least three times a week for 2 months. As I explained last week, we have seen a 360 change in their home and their faces. This Saturday her son Tiago was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The capilla was full of less active members. Including his grandmother. The next day, they came to church to witness Tiago receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. What a journey we have had with this family.. and it is not over yet. Everything went relatively smoothly with the baptismal service (which is a miracle in the mission). We saw the tears in Hermana Natalia's eyes as Tiago made a covenant with the Lord. And these tears were different than the ones we saw 3 months ago. These were happy. I am so grateful for the relationships I have the opportunity to develop here. And even more so for the relationship I am developing with my Father in Heaven. I love you all. Thank you for listening this week. Have a great day and week.

Love, Hermana Stirling
