Provo MTC

Hermana Bowman

Pack yourself a toothbrush dear

Greetings from Provo. I just want to testify really quickly on the power of prayer because it is October 28th and about 65 degrees here in Provo.

1. I think the Spanish language is what we (I say we in hopes that everyone in this group will be there) will speak in Heaven. You have not felt the spirit until you have heard "I know that my Redeemer lives" in espanol.

2. Devotional this week we were pleased to hear from Elder Gary E. Stevenson. He talked about the attributes of Christ. He focused on Charity, Humility, and Diligence. The diligence part hit me really hard because the other day I was sitting down doing some personal study in the T4 building. This random class came and asked if they
could sit and do a devotional in that same area. Their teacher started talking and she said something that totally touched my heart. She said, "You have 18 months to serve a mission and a lifetime to reflect on it". I was moved to tears. It was an important reminder to me how important it is to work as hard as I can... I mean what is the point of being here if I am not going to sacrifice all that I can?? So ya I believe that that little class devotional was meant for me to hear as well.

3. I have officially received my travel plans!! Looks like I really am going to Argentina. It's kind of a game they play at the MTC because you really don't know when or if you will get your visa on time. Luckily all of my district got their travel plans and those of us headed to Argentina will be outta here on the morning of November 6th. It's coming up quick.

4. This week I read in 1st Nephi chapter 11 about when Nephi was shown in vision the life of Christ. Verse 32 says, "And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me again, saying: Look! And I looked and beheld the Lamb of God, that he was taken by the people; yea, the Son of the everlasting God was judged of the world; and I saw and bear record." I was blown away by the wording of this because it sounds so absurd. How can a world full of selfish, wicked, sinful people have the authority to judge the Son of God? They don't. We don't. Jesus Christ loves us despite the pain we caused him in the Garden and the pain we caused him on the cross. I owe him an unpayable debt yet he is the one constantly serving me. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I am grateful to wear his name everyday.

5. Elder Fleming carried his companion up 6 flights of stairs the other day 😂

6. Hermana Bowman got spiked in the throat with the volleyball and I could not stop laughing (don't worry I love her)

Alright that's all I got for now. Thank you for your prayers and love.
I miss you all. Keep doing good.

Love, Hermana Stirling
