Corinth, Mississippi

Kathryn Hales

Okay, interesting contact this week --So Sister Remkes and I knocked on this family's door...they only speak Spanish. Ps I thought of Erico when we talked to her. I didn't know what she was saying so I just talked about Coco of course. Ha We handed her our card and left. I was sad we couldn't teach her but later we received a Book of Mormon referral and guess who it was? The same woman! Her name is Dominga. When we returned to Dominga's house we brought a member who was from Columbia to help with the communication. It was such a cool lesson. We would say something and the member translated. It really forced us to teach simply. Out of simple things, great things will come to pass! She has 5 little kids. They are so cute!!!

So at this point I am so close to the Bean Family. When the mama doesn't want us over she tells us like it is. We are that close to where she knows it won't hurt our feelings. I love it. They feel like family to me now. I cannot wait to go to the temple with them.

We taught Jeff and Makayla(they are friends of our Bishop's daughter)the word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity. They both thought it all made sense and they committed to living those principles. Jeff is still scheduled for this Saturday to be baptized. WOO-HOO!!

Last night we were able to hear the Prophet speak during the Christmas Devotional and my heart is always so full when I hear him speak. It's very clear that he is the Lord's prophet. My mind is drawn to the Savior at this time of year. Biking with all the Christmas lights makes me so giddy. Sister Hales is amazing. President Sainsbury just keeps pairing me with the best companions.

Mosiah 4: 9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.

Have a happy week!

I love love love ya'll so much,

Sister Packard :)

***After the Christmas Devotional we were driving back home and I hit a pot hole and busted our front tire. I didn't know what to do. Our district leaders called..perfect timing. We FaceTimed them and they walked us through switching the tire to the little donut tire. Really good learning experience for meπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ A man pulled over who lived across the street. He helped us finish the job. He lives in a big house I've always wanted to stop by and knock on the door but have been hesitant to do so. He said he has "Mormon friends." I was so excited because this was our IN! We are going to go over and give him cookies and hopefully go from there!! This morning we went over and changed the tire at a tire shop. See, I'm learning a lot of things! haha
