Sister Remkes

Another Great Week!

We had another great week filled with exciting things! I am now an STL(Sister Training Leader) which is just a fancy way of saying that I go on exchanges with other sister missionaries. We are switching it to where I will go to their area and the other sister missionary goes here. It used to be that they will both go here...if that makes any sense!

We are teaching the Bean family. We had given them the Book of Mormon. We had given them a church tour. When we went into our next lesson with them, I noticed the Book of Mormon flipped to 2 Nephi 18. I asked surprisingly, "Maurice are you already in 2 Nephi?" He stormed into the room and exclaimed, "Yes!! It just all makes sense!" He proceeded to tell us all that he has been learning. His wife, Sonja, explained how he has been reading nonstop day after day. We taught their family the Plan of Salvation. At the end of explaining the 3 kingdoms of Glory the youngest son asked ,"Wait that is not fair! I wanna go to the Celestial Kingdom." The youngest daughter said, "Yeah! How do we get there?!" We then transitioned into a brief Gospel of Jesus Christ lesson. The spirit was so strong and it just felt so right to invite them all to be Baptized. The father, Maurice said, "Yes I am so ready for this!" Sonja and Maurice said that when we leave they will read as a family. My favorite part of the lesson was when Maurice gave the closing prayer. He prayed and said, "I'm excited for this next chapter in my life." Right before we left he told us that he wants his own children to be missionaries. Yesterday they came to the church and watched General Conference with us. This family is so special and we are just so happy to be teaching them.

The gospel is so true and can heal our wounded souls! I love this church! I'm so grateful to be here. This has been the greatest experience of my life thus far.
