Living the Missionary Life

Hey hey hey!!!
This week was busy and fast! I feel like I am finally getting more adjusted to this missionary thing. Hahahha.

Sister Dimon is awesome, it's still weird and creepy how fast we got along. Since then we are becoming peas and carrots.(Forest Gump quote ;))

Some highlights of the week!!!

Let's get a move on Interviews:
Aight so this is my 5th week here. WHAT?! It's felt like 3 weeks. We had interviews with President Sainsbury. He's such a nice man and really cares about all the missionaries here. I don't remember if I told ya'll this. When President was putting all the trainers with the newbies he had it all figured out. He didn't feel right about two trainers so he switched two companionships. Later he told me that I was the one he switched to be with Sister Dimon. I thought that was so inspired! It was meant to be :)

Alabama the beautiful: The weather here is so so so awesome. It was one of those days where Dad will wake up the family at the crack of dawn, do yard work, and then play flag it! I could knock on doors all day with this weather. It's nice to take a break from the Provo, Utah snow.

Sometimes you gotta have pizza: Long day and no one really wanted to hear our message. Every house we knocked on said one of the following common Alex City answers:
"Christ is already in me. I don't need no church. The church is IN me"
"I'm a Baptist soooooo....ya'll have a nice day."
"Ya'll Jehovah Witnesses?!"
"Latter day WHAT?!"
"I know that Jesus wants me to follow his word. I can go to any church and as long as I follow his word, I will be blessed."
"I don't need no Joseph Smith church. I study the Bible er day. I love the Bible."
"I'm the preacher on up the road. Ya'll real nice though."

Hahahhaha! Sister Dimon and I sat in our car and ate a whole 5$ Little Caesar's pizza.

Thanks Patsy for the Catfish: This elderly lady in our branch, Patsy, and Sister Dimon and I did Family History. Patsy got SO excited. She took us to this catfish place and it was AWESOME! We had a lesson with Mike and his wife Kim. One of the sweetest lessons. Mike told us that since his baptism he is happier than he has ever been. He thinks more positively. We are going to the Birmingham temple with Mike and Kim this Saturday.

Can I get an Amen?!: We had alot of visitors in Church. It was awesome because during the whole sacrament meeting people would yell "AMEN!" hahaha love it. I wish they had a gospel choir in our branch. Maybe that is something that we can start.

Doctrine and Covenants 121:
7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.

Every day my mind keeps being blown. I am learning a lot.

I learned more about how the Restoration is the greatest event the world has seen since the day that the Redeemer was lifted upon the cross. How grateful I am that He worked out the infinite and eternal atonement.

I underestimate the power of God and Jesus Christ. Their power and greatness and goodness is so vast that I can't even comprehend even a sliver of all that power. Yet he knows me and cares about ME. And He gives us a way to feel connected to him through prayer. The nature of God is love. Pure love and mercy and justice. I am just a weak little sister missionary in Alex City. But I can have access to so much more strength and power, and hope. I have to fully believe that Heavenly Father does in fact love me and all his children. That Jesus Christ, his son, wants to help. I am still trying to more fully understand it all. Learning all of this makes me want to do everything in my power to show my appreciation and love for Him.

Love y'all so much! Have the best week, its already March soon. WEIRD!!!

Sister Packard!!!
