The Prince of Peace for me

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Christmas at the MTC was fantastic! There were Christmas activities on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. On Christmas Eve, we celebrated a Polish tradition in class. In Poland, after they eat a big meal, they each get wafers, just made of flour and water. Then, holding the wafer, they go around one by one and say their wishes for the whole family for the next year. After one person is done saying their hopes and wishes, they pass their wafer and everyone breaks off a piece and eats it. Eating it symbolizes accepting the blessing for the next year. It shows how important families are to them! So we did the same thing in class with my district. It was fun and special, and we used wafers sent from Poland too!
On Christmas Eve, there was a live nativity with the grandkids of the mtc presidency. I loved it so much because I miss kids and you don't see too many around the mtc haha. They sang songs and acted out the nativity. It was so special!!
On Christmas, we had a Christmas Devotional in the morning with Elder David A. Bednar, one of the 12 apostles! Before he spoke, we sang "Where Shepherds Lately Knelt" in the choir and Sister Esplin played her violin. She did such a good job!! One of my favorite lines from the song says "Can I, Will I forget how Love was born and burned its way into my heart unasked, unforced, unearned, to die, to live, and not alone for me?" It talks about Jesus Christ and His personal Atonement for us. It's so real and powerful!! I would recommend listening to the song!!
Elder Bednar talked about recognizing the Spirit and he said that receiving small prompting from the Spirit means God trusts us and we are listening, that God does not need to send us big signs or promptings if we are being obedient and listening already! He said that we won't always know beforehand what to say or where to go, but just go and speak anyway and the Spirit of God will direct us. I felt the spirit in the room when he spoke and I can imagine myself just going and doing good in Poland, like Jesus would do. I am so blessed that I got to hear from two apostles at the MTC now!!
Next, I had a delicious Christmas lunch and got to skype home with Claire! So fun, it was awesome! Then we watched "It's a Wonderful Life" which I would watch every Christmas so it was so fun watching it in the MTC. David Archuleta came at night to sing and bear testimony!! He sang Christmas songs and then some songs he wrote and the stories or testimonies behind them. It was awesome!
I love Christmas and that we get to focus Jesus Christ. I know that He is the Savior of the World, that He came to Earth to overcome and reach below the sins and afflictions of everyone. He died for me and because of Him, I can live again and become so much better than who I am now. I am so blessed to know His gospel and to be able to teach it to others for the next 17 months!! I'm so excited to have Christmas everyday on my mission as I talk about, teach, and represent Jesus Christ!
