The One With the Broken Neck

Hello my biggest fans! I just want to take a second to tell you all how much I miss and love you. I am so incredibly blessed to have such amazing folks in my life! I truly could not be any more blessed!

This week was a little bit slow, but we still had some really exciting things take place!!!

First, to describe the title of my email. On Wednesday morning I woke up feeling like a million bucks, right? We planned, I did some yoga, I was so ready for the day! I was cooking my eggs and I went to go flip my eggs (shout out to my dad for teaching me how to do that) and I completely turned my neck all wrong. Pain just started shooting down my neck, and I couldn't turn my neck a fraction of an inch to either side. Needless to say I was Batman in his bat suit for like 3 days. I'm all good now! I can turn my head and such. But it was pretty funny trying to do missionary work without having a proper working neck. Gave a whole new meaning to “stiff necked”. Took that for granted ha-ha!

This week it snowed!! Like a good 2 inches. To some that's nothing, but to this desert rat it seems like I'm drowning in the snow ha-ha!! IT WAS SO PRETTY!! Sis Mason and I walked all over Lexington while it was a winter wonderland!! I loved it so, so much, surprisingly!! It was nice for a day only though, and I was begging for 70 degree weather at the bottom of my heart. What can I say? I live for the summer!

A fat chunk of our time was put into this YSA master list. Basically, we have a list of 1200 YSAs in both stakes. We have been systematically going through each name and spending lots of time on the phone with other missionaries trying to see if they are active or interested or even living in KY anymore. It has been so amazing to see the blessings that come from this! We have had so much more attendance and we have even discovered some new potential people to teach!! WE ARE SO PUMPED!!

A lot of our people are sick and afflicted with the flu, or they are in Disney World, or have been working a lot. BUT IT HAS BEEN SO MUCH FUN WORKING WITH MEMBERS!

This week we also had MLC (Mission Leadership Council)!! Sister Mason and I gave a training on teaching to people's needs. The one thing I have learned as I have been a missionary is that in order to teach you have to be their friend. You have to love them like Christ does. You have to be willing to spend the time to get to know them. I love friends. LIKE SOOOO MUCH!! That is the best part about being a missionary is all the friends. Sometimes I get stressed that I will run out of room in my heart, but somehow MY HEART KEEPS GROWING!! ITS SO COOL!

This transfer we have been focusing on the Power of the Book of Mormon. I personally have been trying to discover the protection that the Book of Mormon has for me and for my family. It truly is our sickle. When we thrust it in with our might we reap the bountiful rewards!! Lately, I have been trying to seek opportunities to be humble and exercise humility. I read the talk "beware of pride" by president Benson. FIRE TALK PEOPLE!! I have been loving this time I have to walk so closely with the Savior. I LOVE MY LIFE!!!!

Let me know if yall need anything! Thank you do much for the prayers! I love you all so incredibly much! Keep the faith and keep the Savior close. Put Him first and all will seem to fall into place!

Love you all so much! Happy Valentines!!

Sister Ludwig
