The One With The Tornado

Okay y'all, I've lived in Kentucky for a good little bit now, and this weekend was the first time we were grounded because TORNADOS! Some were touching down I guess in Somerset Kentucky, so the Pres. grounded the Lexington and Lexington North zone's. Sister Mason and I were going kind of crazy. We were finally released at like 7 Saturday night. But get this…Saturday morning we were challenged to hand out 13 BoM's as a district. So at 7pm with not much time left we went to WORK. I kid you not, in a 20 minute period Sister Mason and I handed out 4 BoM's! We decided to go to a really nice outlet mall. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE! It was amazing and by the end of the night our district handed out 14 BoM's!! It was awesome!

By the by, my new companion Sister Mason is so FUNNY! I knew we were going to be best friends from the moment I saw her at transfers and she danced her way over to me. I was cracking up! We were at volleyball, and watching this woman play volleyball is so crazy. She just hauls off and punches the ball, and if we weren't in the church that ball would've found itself in China! We decided that during the tornado watch we were just so hungry, so our only solution was to drive ourselves to Canes. So smart right? Well the drive thru was closed, because power outage and so we decided to go inside. Sister Mason’s shoes were soaked so she took them off like a chump, and we went inside Canes without her shoes. We soon found out it was cash only due to power outage. Walked back outside, and I just couldn't stop myself from laughing as we were walking out of Canes in the rain storm and Sister Mason isn't wearing shoes. We were dying. It’s amazing to experience the things that amuse a missionary! I know the humor will be lost on you guys but trust me when I say that it has been nonstop laughs ever since I got her. Between her quick wit and love of the Berlin Wall, there is always something to laugh about.

CAMPUS OPENS ON WEDNESDAY! WE ARE PUMPED! We saw so many miracles this week too! Blair came to church and to institute and we are meeting with her on Tuesday AND SHE WANTS TO TAKE ME TO GOAT YOGA FOR MY BIRTHDAY! We are seriously best friends. The Spirit made it very clear to me that she was made for me! I LOVE BLAIR SO MUCH! Gloria just happened to run into us during our grounded period in the church. She wants to come to the BoM class and meet with us again! MIRACLE! Also, Tabitha came to church and we are getting breakfast with her this week and have a lesson! MIRACLE! Jacob came to church and volleyball! It has been so fun lately! I love my life!

This weekend I was reading in 1 Nephi 17 and verse 21 stood out to me. Laman and Lemuel were complaining per usual. They said we should've stayed in Jerusalem because there we might have been happy. AND I WAS GOING TO RAGE. I was like, are you kidding me? You would've have given up everything and risked your life on a whim that you might have been happy? That's the silliest thing I have ever heard. The gospel PROMISES happiness. It doesn't promise that it will be easy, but your joy is secured when you live the gospel. Do not give up your life for the chance you might be happy. Secure it, and keep the commandments of God!

Remember you are loved and prayed for!

P.S. Our District did a tour of the UK sports facilities this week for P-Day (the day before transfers.) It was AWESOME!
