Sister Spackman

The One Where She's BACK

Okay yall! What a wild week!

So I told you last week about President asking me mid transfer to open up the UK singles area and proselyte on the university campus....what you don’t know are the crazy details. Maybe it was because I was so emotional over leaving Sister Matheson and Sister Elliot. I was just a wreck yall. They are my people, and best friends! They will always hold a special place in my heart! After packing my things (which was a major accomplishment – I have collected too much stuff!), President and Sister Hughes drove me the two hours to Lexington where we met up with my new companion, Sister Spackman. She is just two weeks out of the MTC and I get to finish her training! She is so sweet and radiates with the light of Christ!

I am trying not to be too traumatized by what came next. You need a little background to appreciate my plight. So the area that we are now in has always had Elders. We are the first sisters to be there. The area has also been closed for several months during the summer while school is out. The apartment (lived in ONLY by elders) has been owned by the church for nine years. Do you see where I am going with this?...Nine years, only 18/19/20 year old males, closed for three months…let’s just say that I felt like I was in a third world country for the first time when I walked in to the apartment. It was 7pm when we were dropped off and Sister Hughes was appalled. She must have apologized no less than 10 times for leaving us there because it was so filthy. President was soooo nice. He made arrangements for us to have a ride to the store the next morning so we could buy cleaning supplies. He gave us each blessings and then told us to take as much time as we needed to bring our house to order. It took us all day and part of the next but I finally feel like I won’t get a disease if I cook or shower there! LOL!!

In the blessing President Hughes gave me he invited me to pray always and that if I prayed in faith Angel's will attend. Oh how I have felt angels attending to me this week.

This weekend we had a lesson with a guy named Jacob. We started reading the introduction page and he was like oh my goodness... this book is true! I was like well hot dang! I know! The spirit wasn’t right to invite him to be baptized, but we will for sure get him! He comes to church and institute every week!

I have felt the presence and hand of God more than ever. He is all over this work and all over our lives! It is true! If it wasn’t this work would have failed long ago!
I love you all!

Sister Ludwig
