Not Quite like Planned

It’s funny as a missionary how use to being a missionary you get. A year ago the schedule, teaching, speaking...was all extremely difficult. But you become very accustom to it all. It all starts to become second nature, and relatively easy (don't get me wrong, I still don't understand half of anything going on around me). It’s all-pretty amazing, but sometimes I forget how amazing it is! I forget to look at my progress. I found lately that I struggle to know if I am following the Spirit. I want to make sure that I’m doing what I am supposed to. I want to meet with the right people at the right time and teach the right thing, basically I just want everyday to be perfect. Anyways, I was thinking about that a lot this week, praying that we would be at the right place at the right time, and that we'd have the opportunity to serve the right people. Well, Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers! We were walking around the makeup department on pday...which we do almost every pday (its so pretty) anyways we were comparing two different eye-shadows when a sales associate came up to me and asked "you don't speak Mongolian, do you?"(In Mongolian) so I replied, "yes" she then asked,” you’re not Jesus people are you?" so I replied, "yes, we believe in Jesus Christ" she laughed and said "me too! You’re missionaries." Turns out she has been a member for a long time. She was baptized when she was young in the countryside and has been less active for years. She’s seen us come in for the past couple weeks and she sees the elders come to the store all the time.... and she finally reached out to us. She even lives in our area on the other side of town! Then she started telling her work associates that they should come to our church and meet with us and become members. Well we had the attention of everyone in the store. One of her friends asked to meet with us, so we set up an appointment. Her name is Otgonsuren. We met with her and her husband, they have a real desire to learn the truth, and we had to pass them because they live outside our area.... but we also met with their friend who does live in our area!
And then the next day, nothing worked out. I mean like nothing. We moved all our plans around to try and meet with a new investigator and then it all fell through. I woke up thinking.... what is going to happen...so I prayed...a lot.... I just asked that everything would work out. I asked that we'd have the opportunity to meet with this investigator...or something better. Well the Lord works in strange ways! I was about to start calling when I got a call. There was a sister having a hard time.... I was able to go meet with her and give her encouragement and love. Everything worked out. And then that night on the other side of the city...I ran into that new member that was having a hard time...she's been too busy to meet with us or to come to church.... but we were able to help her.... well at least tried. But we would have never been able to see her...if it weren't for everything else that had happened that day. It’s all so amazing. God knows us and loves us.... each one of us. He hears and answers our prayers...and He knows where we need to be. This is His work and He makes it all happen.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1 Nephi 3:7 I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

D&C 78: 17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, and ye have not as yet understood how great blessings the Father hath in his own hands and prepared for you; 18 And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.

He is ready to bless us and help us -We just have to do our best and follow.

xoxo,
Sister Bollwinkel
