I like something that one of the senior missionaries shared about the commandments. When he was younger he went on hikes and there was this river that went of the side of a cliff. There were signs that said not to cross the river, but many people did. Most people didn't have a problem with crossing, the water didn’t move really fast and it wasn't very far to the other side. The problem lied if you slipped. The bottom of the river was smooth. There were no rocks to hold on to and there was a very strong current toward the bottom. If you slipped it was impossible to get up and the results were.... well death. Not everyone had a problem crossing but a few people did. The signs were to protect these people. The commandment are the same way. They are there to protect us. Not everyone at first sip will become an alcoholic, but Heavenly Father knew that it would prove to be a problem for many. Obedience is so important. It’s the first law of heaven and it truly is an act of faith. I really like this story.
The grafitti is the name of my Branch that I am serving in. The Bayanzurkh Branch. It means rich heart. The sign says rich heart, one heart.... cute right!?
