☆had president interviews and got straight fire spat at me. I asked President Bateman what I could do to keep my focus more on my purpose and not think about home (it's a scary thing to come home + think ab the real world) he asked me what P Nelson does to keep his focus all the time. I talked about how he realizes that his calling is by far the greatest thing he could be doing, he sees the bigger picture, and he keeps his covenants and knows the power + strength that comes from that. P Bateman said, you could say all of those same things for you. I realized that there is so much motivation that comes from keeping my covenants, and that motivation comes because I truly desire the gift of the holy ghost.
me: "let's watch the restoration video with our recent convert and have dinner with her"
sis winn: "that's fancier than most of my dates at home"
we have been working hard to teach the 5 missionary lessons to families in the ward to help strengthen their faith & desire to do missionary work. President Bateman this past week talked about the importance of chapter 3 in pmg and told us that the most important doctrinal truths are found within that chapter. I am so grateful to spend every day in pmg + the bom to understand the 42 principles of the gospel better. we went to one particular family's home and shared the resto message and at the end gave them a copy of the bom to share with a specific friend. they BOTH INSTANTANEOUSLY had specific friends come to mind of who needed a copy. I love the impact that the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ has on people- member or not.
v best part of the weekelder bub + i got to call home at the same time for moms day and we got to finally talk via skype for the first time in 5 months :')
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT- the first principle that we teach anyone as missionaries is that God is our loving Heavenly Father, and typically, that's one of the first principles that's easiest to forget. when we start to fat lack faith, it's so easy to lose sight of how much worth we are in the sight of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father loved each of us in the sense that He sent His Only Begotten Son so that each one of us can return to live with Him again. we have a full life ahead of us devoted to showing our love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. we are here to do good continually and to change into a state of righteousness. we keep the commandments and endure to the end so that we can have eternal life- the greatest of all gifts. I know that when we turn outside of ourselves, we see God's love more abundantly. I know that when we carefully walk the covenant path we feel His love. If there's one thing I've learned from my mission, it's how to rely on Jesus Christ. through some of the hardest times, I have felt Heavenly Father's love for me the most because of the strength that comes from completely turning to Him.
mucho love,
