“it’s just like taking off the squirrel’s shirt, no big deal”
all I have to say is, I'm grateful for my fans that still read my emails after all this time, and I'm going to Raising Canes for lunch so this is probably going to be a janky email
highlights: -I SKINNED A SQUIRREL AND I'M EATING SQUIRREL STEW NEXT WEEK. I say, only would this ever happen on a mission, unless you're my Uncle Chase lol. who knew that the area that I served closest to the city, and not any of my boonies, would be the one I would finally fulfill my biggest goal of eating squirrel stew- NOT ME
-Sunday morning our girl Mary Ann (someone we have on date to be baptized) texted us and told us she woke up really late but was going to try to make it to church. Church started in 20 min and we had a 15 min drive ahead of us, but we ran to her house so she could follow us on the way. She walked out of her house with a coffee mug in hand and walked right into Sacrament Meeting with us LIKE A CHAMP.
-We had a "come, see, ask" fireside last night where recent converts speak and share their testimony and story of how they met the missionaries and were baptized and then conclude with a Q&A. Tabitha (our recent convert that just barely went to the temple & was baptized last month) spoke at it and KILLED IT. She said something that I absolutely loved, "Heavenly Father may not give us what we want, but He will always give us what we need." The 3 stories that were shared all centered around their desire to know Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ better. A man who joined in December shared about how his life was just a wreck and he was feeling so stuck, not knowing what to do. He was visiting with a friend, who happened to be a member, and the advice he received was, "You just need to get plugged in with Christ." From that advice, he found himself walking into church and taking the missionary discussions. I LOVE the changes we start to make in our life the second we come to understand the love that Heavenly Father has for each of His children.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT- "Our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, feel sorrow when we choose to remain in sin, when the gift of repentance made possible through the Atonement can clean, reclaim, and sanctify our lives." I feel so blessed to know our Savior. A couple weeks ago I heard the question, "If Jesus Christ were to walk in the room, would you be able to recognize Him?" I know that as I have worked every single day to increase my relationship with Christ, I would recognize Him. I am grateful for the experiences I have had on my mission, and off my mission that have allowed me to grow and become someone I didn't know I could be. I love the strength and power that comes as we rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
