It has been a great week, we are getting to know everyone in the Branch really well and they are all so amazing. The people and members here have truly been through a lot, this week as we went and talked to others and so many were very open about their experiences with the Hurricane that hit about 2 years ago. Almost everyone's houses and property were destroyed along with jobs and the whole of the island suffering. It is so hard to hear these heart breaking experiences, but so many of them have found hope in God. When there is no earthly help, others turn to God. I am so grateful that we have a loving Heavenly Father that gives us hope in our trying times.
We have been teaching a few people and really trying to help them understand how important prayer is. I love that we can openly communicate with God and that he does indeed answer back. We invite others to pray and ask God if the things we share are true. I have felt his love in my life and his guidance through the Holy Spirit as I have more earnestly and faithfully prayed. Our friends Majidah and Patricia are trying to pray for an answer to know the Book of Mormon is true and they have such wonderful questions and insights that I had not thought of before. It has made me really think about all the questions and points of doctrine the Book of Mormon clarifies.
This week we had a missionary run and Branch supported Talent Show. We were hoping to have lots of members and friends there and it was a great turnout. There is so much talent here and it was a wonderful way to get everyone together. I will attach some pics and videos of all the fun. I am so grateful to be serving here at this time in St. Maarten I know the Lord is softening people's hearts here to accept the gospel and this was a wonderful way to have them at the church and have some fun!
