St. Phillip - Six Cross Roads, Barbados

Sister Blomquist

Group Email #16

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all have been doing great these past few weeks, our time was limited so I am sorry about not writing last week. I have been super busy lately, but really enjoying serving. I am sad to report that while out contacting and in our area Sister Blomquist and I did get burnt- but I did not peel, we were just real red for a branch activity haha. Last week we were able to have all three branches together for District Conference, there were about 160 members and friends that came out! That is a record for Barbados and I was so happy to see so many people come to worship together! The speakers were all so wonderful, Jonathan who is a 17 year old recent member is spoke about prayer and his experience of God answering his prayers it was really powerful and he did so well for his first talk! We got to hear from our District President who spoke on some of Christ's miracles and his life of service. I felt the spirit so strongly and it was a great experience.

On Saturday night we had Cuisine Night, this was put on by the Men in our Branch. Everyone was supposed to pick a dish from a different Country and bring them to share. Sister Blomquist and I represented Canada! We made white and whole wheat Beaver tails with a maple Glaze made by yours truly! They actually turned out really well and all the other food was really good! There were no decorations and we started an hour and a half late but the night was a success. Everyone had a lot of fun and quite a few non- members came out and got to know the members!

The following Sunday our friend Carlos came to church for a second time which was so awesome. He stayed for the whole time, sang the hymns and seemed to really enjoy all the members and classes! The MacIntosh's have a son Omari, who just got married to Akeila. They have been coming to church with their two little boys. It has been wonderful to get to know the MacIntosh's better, they are so kind and has us 7 missionaries from the Branch over for lunch. I will attach pics! We are actually going to teach Akeila at the Mac's house, she is so sweet and I am excited to help her learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

On Sunday night all the missionaries in Barbados were able to go over to the Mission Home. We watched a broadcasted devotional all about Christmas and the messages and videos that we as missionaries get to share! I am so excited for this Christmas season and the message of great Joy we as missionaries share. I am so grateful for my Savior I know he loves each one of us, and he is the light of the world. A scripture I love is John 17:3, it perfectly describes what the Savior did for each one of us.

I am really enjoying being here, working hard and having so many great experiences. I am learning so much everyday form the people I meet and serve. I hope you all have a wonderful week and I hope to hear from you!

Love Sister MacDonald
