St. Phillip - Six Cross Roads, Barbados

Sister Blomquist

Group Email #12

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great week! I love hearing from each of you.
These past two weeks and have been busy and filled with lots of great things! We got to go help our dear friend Sister Weight, she is working hard on family history work and we have been able to help her on family search and indexing. She is so sweet and gave me one of her tropical blouses, so funny.

Last friday we had the opportunity to go to the mission home with President Fisher and his wife and the other Sister missionaries, we had a wonderful devotional. We talked about hard work and relying on the Lord. Even though days can be hot, people may turn us down and we may feel as though we aren't accomplishing much but I know as we rely on him and follow the spirit he will consecrate our efforts. I am so grateful to have the book of mormon and get to share the power and peace it brings in my life. There are so many wonderful missionaries here, and I have loved serving with them. Their testimonies and dedication have strengthened me so much! It was such an amazing opportunity to gather together and learn.

On Saturday we got to join in helping clean up the port-side, by picking up garbage. We pulled out some nasty stuff and some neat finds. We found refrigerator parts, shoes, tires anything you could think of. Some of the missionaries and others were under the rocks just pulling garbage up. It was really fun and rewarding, serving the people in Barbados and working with the members. But the Bajan trash is real!

The most awesome thing happened when we went to visit the Jordan Family, they are members who are unable to attend church due to work. When we came on Saturday, Sis. Jordan has been prayerfully asking for Sundays off for years now but had no luck. They have been reading their scriptures, praying and trying to stay close to God but unable to attend church, she finally got the news that she could have sunday off. It was so wonderful! We read the Living Christ with them and bore our testimonies on Jesus Christ, I felt God's love so strongly and am so grateful their faith. I will include pics with them on sunday, hooray!
I am so blessed to be here in Barbados, serving and meeting wonderful people. My testimony of the Savior and his love has deepened so much as I see how much he has and continues to do for me.

I hope to hear from you and wish you a wonderful week!

Love Sister MacDonald,
