Hey yall just coming at cha sick as a dog...haha both my comp and I got suuuuper sick last night. We didn`t have any running water in our pension`s house...and well I think the food we ate was not very clean and we got something because we both have ¨estómagos sueltos¨. But don`t worry, it`ll pass haha. Well this week was another fast week. It was a good week!
So my investigator Diana from Buenos Aires got baptized! She invited me to come to her baptism, so my comp and I both went. It was so awesome to see her so happy and ready to be baptized. It was great to see my old comp Hermana Mendez and also some of the members there. It was a happy, spiritual day and I was so glad to be there.
We had district meeting on Tuesday and the message was really powerful and I would like to share a little bit about what I learned. It was about missionary work and the Atonement. We watched a video about it and it was a video that I had seen in the CCM and before the mission, but it never really hit me until that moment. As I was watching the video, I just felt the spirit so strongly. The mission is supposed to be hard because what Christ did was nothing close to being easy. My companion and I have had some experiences where people would call us ¨garbage¨ or just simply wave their finger at us and slam the door. Or people treat us differently because we`re white. We would laugh it off, but to be honest, it`s sad to be rejected. Being on a mission has really opened my eyes to what really following Christ entails. It`s not easy being a member, it`s not easy being a missionary, it`s not easy being an investigator because ¨SALVATION IS NOT A CHEAP EXPERIENCE¨ (-Jeffrey R. Holland). I`m understanding that Christ requires part of our soul to be able to be saved, to be able to live the gospel. When we accpted to be baptized and to become representatives of Christ, we did not accept the easy path. We are trodding the beaten path of our Savior, Jesus Christ, ¨the only pure and perfect missionary¨
I really love the mission. I really believe, and I`m pretty sure I`ve said this before that I would probably have grown up to be a different person if I did not serve a mission. I`m so grateful for the opportunity to wear Christ`s name on my heart every day. I love meeting and helping these people. They have taken up a big part of my heart. I love you all and I hope you guys have an awesome week!
