Simple but True!

Hello friends!

We made it a goal as a companionship to, in a nutshell, improve our contacts. At the beginning of the week, they were kind of just the same, then we went on exchanges. On Thursday, I got to go to Mukilteo! It's right by the beach and Boeing so it was way fun for me. But let me tell ya, city life as a missionary is WAY different than boonie life as a missionary! BOONIES IS ALL I KNOW. #ferndale #machias We talked to so many people and they all listened!! What?! We got so many referrals and found potentials, and had lessons out the wazoo. It was a dream. But don't get me wrong, I love my boonie-ville that is Machias. Anyway, back to the point. It's safe to say exchanges were...challenging for my companion. But good things came from it and we both learned things we can improve upon that really helped us the next day.

Friday. Best day ever people. I think it was because we found new motivation from the day before and our whole countenances changed. We weekly planned at a smoothie shop so obviously it started out good. Then we felt like we should go see our investigator Cece who is never home, but she finally was! She works at Little Ceaser's and we went there the other night as I was battling between teriyaki or bread sticks. I chose bread sticks. She thought we were stalking her but she's cool so it turned out fine. She wants to meet with us again and we told her about Miranda so she's gonna come and it's gonna be great.

After that, some plans fell through and we weren't really sure what to do. We had been out of contact with Shirley for a while and were afraid that she didn't want to meet with us anymore because her daughter (return missionary) moved away. (we thought she was just meeting with us for her). I kept feeling like we should just stop by though so we did. When we went, there were a few people outside and we both felt kind of nervous about what her reaction would be, then she saw us. She came over to us and gave us each the biggest hug, without saying a word. She apologized for being out of contact because she was working so much. She hugged us both again and with tears in her eyes, said "come back Wednesday." So glad we followed the spirit on that one.

After the end of the night, we tried a bunch of people that weren't home and we had just enough time to try one more person. We could have gone home but we decided not to quite yet. There has been a lady, Teresa, on our list of potentials for about a year now. I have tried her so many times for the past 7 1/2 months and have never talked to her. This night, she answered. She responded so well to everything we said and wants us to come back. We were speechless! It had been two weeks since we found anybody and Teresa was just so prepared! We were unbelievably stoked out of our minds that we literally shouted for joy the whole car ride home. When we got in the apartment we were rolling on the floor and running around. I literally fell down and now have a rug burn/bump on my knee. #worthit. If this isn't how you react when you find someone who wants to learn about Jesus Christ and the restored gospel, then you're doing it wrong.

Today we were driving and noticed some missionaries driving behind us. I wanted them to know it was us so I stuck a Book of Mormon out the window as a "code." Later, they complimented us on our erratic driving.

I don't really have anything else to say so I'll leave you with a scripture. "And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led." 1 Nephi 17:13. I know that He truly will light the way before us, lead us, and prepare the way as we keep His commandments. Simple but true!

Love you all, have a great week!

Pictures: (not as many as last week. sorry we failed)
A little girl made us necklaces and mine was too big to fit around my head so it's now a hair piece.
Exchanges with Sister Lindsay! (Her picture turned out better, waiting for her to send it.)
