Sister Davidson

Clean Slate

This morning, right after our alarm went off, and before we even got out of bed to pray, Sister Davidson looked at me and said..."Can we take a nap today?" Haha. How is your day going?

But anyway, hello! Happy solar eclipse day! A few of us missionaries went out just now to check it out. Pretty sweet. The library grounds is SWARMING with people.

Alright, so we did something crazy this week. We dropped 5 investigators. Yes, that includes Shirely S. and Shannon. We're purging. Starting with a clean slate. Finding new people has been a struggle though. Our zone leaders could sense our problem so they offered to go see some people in our area for us. They got us a return appointment with a guy and invited someone else to church! (He said he'd come but didn't end up coming). We'll go back. But oh man, we have one guy, David, who is super promising. He wants to come to church with his kids next week! Pray for David!

So the other night, we were visiting a less active lady in the ward like we usually do once a week. When we showed up, we walked to her back porch and found her sitting at a table, smoking. (This is normal, she smokes a ton) But there was something weird in her bowl, it was definitely not a cigarette. The very first thing she said to us, before we even said hi was, "sorry I'm just burning sage." Okay, I'll be fair, I'm not 100% sure what sage looks or smells like, but I can 100% guarantee that was not sage. I'm not experienced in this either but I think can spot a drug when I see one lady. We had some good laughs after the matter. Luckily, it was the end of the night so we got to go home right after and wash off the "sage" scent.

I wish I had more to share, but this week was pretty uneventful. On Wednesday, we were on schedule D again because Sister Davidson was sick. It happens.

Major tender mercy the other day: We were out tracting and we had been walking for a while with no luck. Just then, we spotted a couch "for free" just chilling on the side of the road. What did we do?! We took ourselves a sit. I don't know where that couch had been and I don't want to know. All I know is, it was the best five minutes of my life. Pictures included.

I almost forgot! I finished reading the Book of Mormon again this week! As I studied it, I highlighted references to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I think what stuck out to me the most as I did this was the principle of repentance. It says over and over again to repent or ye shall perish. Seems pretty obvious right? Apparently not in some cases. This definitely applies to us, not just with the big things, but with little things too. If we aren't constantly making course corrections in our day to day lives to align our lives with God's will, then eventually, we will find ourselves far off the path and lost. Continue making necessary changes everyday to draw closer to Him and to stay on the path that leads to eternal life!

That about sums up my week. Love you all and have a good one!

I've got a boat load of pictures for you all.
The couch.
The family we went to visit wasn't home so we borrowed their trampoline.
