All the good things that could possibly happen happened this week I don't know where to start.
Wednesday we had the most powerful lesson of my life!! Background: A few weeks ago we were sent a referral through text. All it said was "Joey" and his address. We spent DAYS looking for him before we thought that maybe he lived on Guide Meridian instead of Old Guide. Turns out he did! We set up a time to meet but he rescheduled a few times. He finally kept his appointment though, and the best part, Adam Mangrum, our recent convert, came with us!! I cannot even tell you how awesome he is, his testimony is so strong and he connected with Joey on so many levels! I know that the spirit was guiding us in that lesson and Sister Brush and I taught in such unity! It was honestly the boost we needed because the work has been a bit slow and that just reminded me why I am even out here.
On Saturday, Conner, the boy we have been teaching since I got here, was baptized! I gotta be real, teaching him was a little difficult because A) he is a kid and gets distracted easily and B) he is a kid with a slight learning disability so he gets even more distracted because of it! When we were first teaching him, he did not like having us over and he barely spoke or interacted. Now he talks, participates, and smiles and laughs! Even his family has warmed up a ton. His dad even worked a lot with the Bishop so he could baptize Conner. That's the power the gospel has on lives! Anyway, we had a mini freak out at the baptism. We totally forgot to get them jumpsuits prior to the baptism! We hurried and picked out one for Conner from the closet, he is small so that was easy. But his dad needed a 3XL and they didn't have one!! Our phone stopped working so we couldn't call our leaders but others members were calling around too. Conner's mom said that her brother could just perform the baptism but we didn't want that because his dad had worked to hard to do it! Sister Brush and I went back to the closet and pulled out a 2XL and asked him to at least try it on! We prayed it would fit. Next thing we know our ward mission leader comes walking out with a big thumbs up! The jumpsuit fit!! Bishop talked to him right before and Conner said "I'm so excited!!" He was baptized and when he came out of the water he shouted "WOW!!" haha! He was so nervous! I can't believe how far he has come! Oh also, his dad hasn't come to church in years, but he came yesterday for Conner's confirmation. Yes!!
Last thing. Yesterday we had a lesson with Tiffany, our former investigator. She said that she and her husband would come to church for the next 4 weeks to see if this is what they want to do. She agreed to have us come back and teach her and she even invited us to dinner! Woohoo! We are going to have a lesson with her next Sunday at the Bishop's house and do a little "family night" with all their kids. FINALLY!
We have seen so many miracles this week which has given me the drive to keep going! I hope you all notice the tender mercies God gives us each day! This is my joy! Alma 26:37
Sorry I don't have a lot of pictures this week. My camera memory is full. Fear not, I got a flash drive to put all my pictures on so I can clear up that memory!
