I have hit my one month mark! That seriously went by so fast, but at the same time I feel like I have been a missionary forever! I can't explain it. Anyway, I love being a missionary. It is definitely hard at times but it's worth it!
I gave my first talk in church while on the mission yesterday! I spoke about faith in Jesus Christ. I SPOKE FOR 20 MINUTES!!!! which is good too because the first speaker wasn't there. I talked about why faith was important and how Satan can destroy our faith. If we want to increase our faith in Jesus Christ, we must act on our desire to have faith in Him! I included a talk by Kevin W. Pearson called Faith in Jesus Christ. It must have went well because several people came up to me afterward and said they enjoyed my talk and that it was exactly what they needed to here. Yay me!!
The other day we contacted the son of a guy we are teaching. He said that he doesn't believe in God. We were able to talk with him a bit and his heart softened to our message. He didn't commit to anything but we did leave a Book of Mormon with him. A few days later, we found out he started reading it! Woohoo!
On Saturday mornings we serve at the food bank. We are the shoppers which means we fill up people's bags with groceries. Its actually fun and the people are so grateful. It nice.
Funny story, so the other day this girl opened the door in her bra. She goes "OH MY GOSH! Craig its the sisters!! I"m so embarrassed!!" She shuts the door, puts on a shirt, and comes back. I"m just wondering why she would answer the door in her bra in the first place??? Another crazy thing, someone had a GIANT sign in their house that said "sorry we"re stoned". Seriously, crazy people of Washington!
We went to a missionary training this week at our mission home in Mill Creek! It was so fun to see everyone from my MTC district!
It's crazy to think where I was before my mission and where I am now. I have a stronger desire to grow closer to Him and I know that God can change your heart if you let Him!
