As I'm sure many of you know, this week I have returned home from my mission. It was a few weeks early but it was time and everything is good! So don't worry!
NOW THE GOOD STUFF.
I'm not even sure how to begin quite honestly. Like, how do you sum up the best 18 months of your life in a quick email ya know?
Lets start with the comps. I seriously loved every single one of my companions and cannot say enough good about them, but here's a little something I learned from each of them.
Sister Stokes: How to work with diligence, purpose, and focus.
Sister Bird: How to step outside your comfort zone and be yourself. (No growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone am I right?)
Sister Brush: How to do God's will even when everything else is going against you.
Sister Perry: How to have a positive attitude when things are hard and see the best in everyone.
Sister Nelson: How to have faith and act in order to see miracles and get things done. #justdoit
Sister Davidson: How to have charity and kindness toward everyone and selflessly serve.
Sister Knaphus: How to follow the spirit without fear and not knowing what to do beforehand. 1 Nephi 4:6 basically.
THEY ARE JUST THE BEST OKAY.
I know God lives. I know His son, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that he really did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know the Bible is the word of God and I feel so deep in my heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God as well. I know that as we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ-faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end-and apply those things in our lives, we will be able to find lasting and fulfilling happiness in this life and eternal joy in the world to come.
My mission was the greatest thing that I never planned to do and I miss it everyday. I will never forget the people there and those who made an imprint on my life. I'm grateful for those I was able to teach because they taught me as well. I saw the spirit change hearts and it changed mine. Washington will forever hold a special place in my heart.
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." -3 Nephi 5:13
Signing off for the last time as Sister Hilton. Peace out friends. Love you and see you all soon.
