I don't know if you will even see this letter until next week but wanted to write just in case. I would feel terrible if you logged on and didn't find a letter from me.
Today is Christmas Day! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet companion. I hope that today and everyday is filled with happiness and joy. No one deserves it more than you. We will be talking with you in a few hours. Woot woot!! We miss you terribly but are so proud of the work and service that you are doing. Can't wait to hear your voice and see your beautiful face.
We had a fun Christmas Eve. Aunt Traci is here celebrating with her kids so she and her bunch came over along with Grandpa Phil who is here for the winter. Of course, Bryce, Shaun, Cecile & the girls were here too. We had Mexican fiesta plus cheese dip for dinner and root beer floats for dessert. It was yummy. Mostly we just ate, talked and watched the little kids play. We opened our jammies, mine and Cecile matched yours and dad and the boys matched. I couldn't find matching for Mad and Cat but both of theirs had penguins on them. I think they were a hit. I hope you liked yours. What did Sister K think?
I really liked having church on Christmas Eve. The choir did the bulk of the program and I gotta tel you it was beautiful. We have an amazing choir. Sister Dodge (don't know if you remember her) played a violin solo to O Come O Come Emmanuel and it was so good! Serious goosies the whole time. We had a little children's choir and you know how I am when little kids sing. I had tears running down my cheeks. The whole thing was just so so good. Bishop spoke briefly. He quoted Matthew 6 19-21, it reads "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth , where moth and dust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also". Basically in a nutshell he was telling us that although worldly things are nice and a necessity our truest happiness come from eternal things. So we need to remember why we have Christmas and focus more on the eternal than the worldly. The whole meeting was really good. Music is powerful that way and a good choir singing is a gift. Twas a good day!
Slow week at work, not even worth mentioning. Steph, Darian and I went out to breakfast on Thursday morning (IHOP). We wanted to get together and exchange gifts. They gave me a bottle of perfume, Light Blue, it smells amazing. Darian and I went in together and got Steph a flat iron and gift certificate for eyelash extensions, then Steph and I got Darian a black pair of converse shoes. They are really fun girls, makes work a whole lot more fun with them around.
Madsie spent the night Saturday. She and I drove over to see Joanne. She is doing as well as can be expected but still not great. We had a nice long visit. Her and Tom enjoyed spending time with Madeline. Keep them both in your prayers please. Joanne is fighting a horrible battle and Tom right along there with her. They are great people and its just a sad sad situation what is happening to her. Mad is the sweetest little girl. She kept saying "I love you Grandma". I swear I could die today and all would be right with the world. She is pure joy!!
I am gonna close now. It is late and I am tired. We love you very much and think that you are simply amazing.
