Heed Them Not

This week has been a week of service. The Pioneer Museum here called and asked if we could help show people how to make rag dolls at their open house. It was actually pretty fun. We did it for like 4 hours though so I basically never want to see a rag doll ever again. It was a great way to be in the community though! Also, cut some fabric for Days for Girls so I'm pretty much a seamstress now. Then we helped a lady clean her house. I will never understand why she was sanding wood in her living room but to each their own. Safe to say I have never felt more satisfied in my life after leaving that project.

So here is the situation. We had a lesson with 6 of our investigators set up for this week...but every single one of them cancelled. I wish I could give you an update on them but, ya know, can't. Other people's agency is really frustrating sometimes! It's okay though because we were able to reschedule with some and it totally motivated us to find those who are prepared! Like, no joke, Sunday night we were so determined to find someone that as we drove home, we literally stopped to talk to everyone we saw outside. We met some super swag guys barbecuing. They were way nice and probably intoxicated but no effort wasted am I right? It just makes me think, what can I do to have that much determination and diligence every single day?

I have been studying Elder Nelson's talk about what the Book of Mormon is, what it affirms, what it refutes, what it fulfills, what it clarifies, and what it reveals. He also talked about how important it is to immerse ourselves DAILY in the scriptures. Sister Knaphus and I have decide to call it a "daily dip." In my "daily dip" the other day, I was reading Lehi's dream. He was talking about how there are many temptations in the world and people sometimes "mock" those who choose to follow Christ but they "heeded them not." "For as many as heeded them had fallen away." Hold fast to your beliefs and you will not fall away!

In other news, a guy saw us struggling with the self car wash toady so he paid for it. I love people.

Also, I don't think Sister Knaphus and I have disagreed on anything more than what brand of root beer is the best. Barqs over A&W am I right?!

That sums up the week! Have a good one!

Our neighbor gave us this plant. Open to name suggestions.
We made a twitter to tweet all the funny things that happen.
Saw this "help us" sign but forgot it was Halloween time for a second.
This week we suffered from severe weather conditions so please enjoy the documentary of this event.
Our DL, Elder Jepson, died.
We ran out of clean spoons, therefore, ladle.
My mom sent me a package.
