This week was really awesome.
We have been able to teach a few lessons and we have a new investigator named Orlando. He is so solid and really wants to do what the Lord wants him to do. I am excited to teach him.
Last week I met a less active member who came home early from his mission. He opened up to us and told us that he had been thinking about going back and didn't really get a clear answer. I was able to share a story about Michael McClain and how his son was gay and decided to leave the church and how hard that was for him and even though he didn't receive an answer right away he knew that God would answer. So he did all the things he was supposed to. He went to church, prayed, and even served in the temple and nothing. long story short he got his answer. But looking back he said that he got his answer when his dad was giving a talk on Easter Sunday in church. He had the beginnings of dementia and got up and talked all about Heavenly Father. and Michael McClain was like " what is he doing.. this is Easter Sunday! he is supposed to be talking about Jesus" and then his dad said something. he said " so we know that God had to leave the presence of Christ when he was on the cross. but God KNEW that Christ even being alone in that moment would choose to do the right thing, that even if God had to leave, he had faith enough in his son to still make the right choice." When I told that story the spirit was so strong and we left and when we came back he told me that he thought a lot about that story and he knew that even if God didn't give him a clear answer that he knew what the right choice was and now is planning to go back on a mission. He met with his bishop and is getting everything ready! It was soooo awesome to know that I was able to be a part of that!
I know that even when we don't think so God is listening to us. he does answer our prayers and he will continue to bless us in ways we never thought possible.
It's a good day to be a missionary.
