So this week has been completely crazy! And yes! I did actually get chased by cows. Let me tell you this wonderful story.
So on Thursday Sister York and I were biking in Lancaster, which is filled with farmland. It was completely dark out, and we had no clue where we were. Well our GPS decides to take us down this dirt road with no street lamps whatsoever. A couple yards down this road we decide that it was probably not the best idea to go that way so we stop, look at our GPS, and try to figure out another way to get to our destination. All of the sudden we hear something shuffling around, we look to our left and see a bunch of eyes coming towards us. COWS! We were a little freaked out about this so we got on our bikes and road away but the cows decided to follow the lights on our bikes and chase after us! Don't worry mom, the cows were behind a fence so we were completely safe, but let me tell ya, being chased by a herd of cattle is pretty terrifying!
This week we also had a mission tour. This is where a member of the Seventy comes and trains the missionaries. Elder Kevin S. Hamilton is the one that came and spoke to us and he is amazing! He talked a lot about being converted to the Lord. Building our testimonies in Jesus Christ instead of just going because we like the people or the program. He emphasized the importance of doing the small and simple things that allow us to receive a witness from the Holy Ghost daily of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, such as praying, reading the scriptures, going to church, and paying tithing. These small and simple things are like stair steps to Christ. They build upon each other and as we exercise the faith to take the next step in strengthening our personal testimonies we WILL come to know Jesus Christ.
It really impressed me that out of all the things he could have instructed us on, out of all the keys to success he could have given us, Elder Hamilton chose to to focus on the small and simple things. There are no secrets on how we can enter into the kingdom of Heaven, in fact the path is so simple we are all capable of getting there! Keep pressing forward!
I love you all! Have a great week!
